Violence Prevention West is one of ten Regional Coordinating Committees that work to increase awareness of all forms of violence.  The provincial Violence Prevention Initiative Services (through the Office for the Status of Women) supports the RCCs through a grants program and other activities.  Volunteer-based local coordinating committees operate under VP West in Deer Lake, Bonne Bay North, and Bonne Bay South.
