Provincial Hearing Aid Program – Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development

People who need financial help to buy hearing aids may be eligible to receive assistance through the Provincial Hearing Aid Program. Find out:

Eligible: People with a low income may be eligible to receive assistance.

Active income support clients who require hearing aids should speak with their Social Worker, Case Maintenance team, or Client Services Officer to determine their eligibility for these benefits.

A person who is already receiving subsidized home support (from a Regional Health Authority) can apply for the Provincial Hearing Aid Program through the Community Supports Social Worker assigned to them. This way they will not have to fill out a financial assessment.

Appointments should be made with the Audiologist FIRST and then CONTACT Provincial Hearing Aid Program (PHAP)

How to Apply – to receive financial assistance: Fill in an application form or complete the financial assessment over the telephone to see if you are eligible for the program.

It is important to know that you must be approved for the program before you purchase the hearing aid. You cannot purchase the hearing aid first and then apply to be reimbursed for the cost.
